FORUM
To be announced... After a bit of deliberation, I've decided that this will not be a typical Web forum. Instead, the focus will be primarily on getting people together in reality rather than online. In the meantime, for forums with a stateless bent, check out Mises, Strike the Root, Adventures in Legal Land, or visit NHfree for more activism-oriented stuff (though not necessarily with a stateless bent).
I originally had the following categories and descriptions for an online forum, which I thought you might find useful in thinking about things to think about. ;-)
Welcome: Thanks for visiting this forum! You're here because you want to promote the ideas of reason (our means of survival), voluntarism (respectful interaction), and self-ownership (the essence of property rights). The forum's purpose is to brainstorm ideas for achieving complete liberty as soon as humanly possible, in accordance with upholding individual rights. If you're not yet convinced of the merits of complete liberty, please peruse the book and its bibiliography. If you still have reservations, check out the "Doubts" category, and perhaps someone will be kind enough to help you. Enjoy!
Podcast Topics and Issues: Share your suggestions and comments about the show.
Good News: Good news must come first. The latest that's germane to the State's eventual demise or to the rise of voluntarism.
Bad News: Dare to be the bearer of it. It helps to know the nature of our predicament and how to best cope.
Education: From State-run grade schools to high schools, to universities, status quo institutions are major influences on political memes. Fortunately, the Web and a better understanding of learning will enable their disintegration. Let's explore the best ways to get rid of authoritarianism.
Demonstrations: Signs and symbols reflect ideas, and ideas rule the world.
Public Outreach: Got ideas for fertilizing the roots of grass? This is the rational alternative to playing politics.
YouTube etc.: Power to the people! Share links to your choice clips or propose new ones. Now is the time for smart human-on-the-street interviews.
Civil Disobedience: Not complying with irrational, immoral, and unjust laws exposes their true nature to self and others. Let's encourage good deeds instead of tolerate bad behavior. The common good can never be achieved through infringing on individual rights to property, self-ownership, and choice.
Opting Out: Ways to live more freely prior to complete libertopia.
Self-improvement: Explore the psychology and morality of self-ownership and all it entails, from childhood to adulthood.
Books and Articles: Pens are mighter than swords, and keyboards are now mighter than pens. Share your best titles and choicest pieces for stimulating the brain and advancing human consciousness.
Music: Raise the goblet of rock to the eventual demise of the State! Share and discuss your favorites, especially those that empower and inspire.
Movies: Ones you've seen, are wanting to see, or make!
Doubts: Any and all pessimism, or even purported "realism," to be addressed here.
